Sound pressure level (SPL)

Estimate sound level at a listening point using sensitivity, power per transducer and distance.

Calculation results

Estimated SPL at the listening point

90 dB SPL
Assumptions and use

Use sensitivity rated at 1 W / 1 m. A 2.83 V rating is not equivalent to 1 W at every impedance. This is a free-field point-source model; room reflections, cable losses, air absorption, driver limits and power compression are excluded. Multiple-transducer summation assumes equal distance and level at the listening point. This is not a line-array prediction.

How to interpret this estimate

Estimate sound pressure level from sensitivity, power and distance under a point-source, free-field assumption.

This is a preliminary engineering estimate. Confirm manufacturer references, installation conditions and equipment limits before specifying hardware. Coverage diagrams show geometric estimates rather than measured room SPL. Contact AVASH with your plan and inputs to request a project review or a PDF design report.
